Fred came to Traderscale with around two years of trading behind him — and by his own account, the first of those two years was anything but consistent. He was managing websites for a living and looking for a way into trading that didn’t mean risking his own capital.

He bought two evaluations and passed both first time. Several of his early funded accounts breached before things clicked; the turning point was simplifying — trading one or two pairs instead of spreading himself across the market.

Since then he has taken three payouts from Traderscale and is currently trading multiple funded accounts. On requesting that first payout, he told us it was “strong proof of concept moving forward”.

  1. How long had you been trading before joining Traderscale, and how would you describe your experience level at the time?

    Roughly 2 years before joining Traderscale, however the first year was not consistent. Experience level intermediate — been in the game long enough to learn the ropes and gain a decent level of market understanding but definitely room to improve and grow as a trader.

  2. What were you doing for work or income before this?

    Website management.

  3. What made you decide to try a funded trading program — and why Traderscale specifically?

    Seemed like a great way to get the foot in the door with trading besides just trading a live account. I’d heard good things about Traderscale from other traders in the space so was eager to give you guys a try.

  4. How many challenges or evaluation accounts did you purchase before passing, and how many attempts did each phase take?

    Two evaluations, and one attempt to pass each phase.

  5. If you failed any attempts, what went wrong — and what did you change afterward?

    Overcomplicating by trading too many pairs. When I focused on only 1 or 2 pairs, that’s when I started to see better results.

  6. What account size did you start with, and did you scale up over time?

    100k, and yes — added a 200k to the arsenal.

  7. How many funded accounts are you currently trading, and how long did each phase take?

    Two on Traderscale. Each phase took roughly 2–3 weeks.

  8. What does your trading strategy or approach look like?

    Mechanical trading strategy. Bias revolves around the 4 hour timeframe, entry model is executed on the 15 or 5m timeframe.

  9. What almost made you quit — and what kept you going?

    Retracing over $500k in live funding. I had to remind myself that if I could gain it once I could gain it back, as the skill never went anywhere.

  10. What’s one specific moment from this journey that stuck with you?

    Requesting my first payout — strong proof of concept moving forward.

  11. How long was it from signing up to your first payout?

    2–3 months.

  12. How much was your payout, and how did it feel to receive it?

    $6,035 — a big relief after getting close multiple times but being knocked down on the equity curve. Glad that I stayed disciplined throughout the process.

  13. What did you do with it — or what does it mean for your life?

    Putting most aside for now, just sorting expenses first. It allows me to be a lot more flexible with working hours.

  14. Was there anything about the payout process that surprised you?

    Very fast. I have nothing negative to say about the payout process — I was contacted in less than 24 hours and the person I spoke to was very helpful in sorting the process.

  15. What would you say to someone who’s on the fence about trying this?

    Invest in yourself, get educated, and once you have an edge backed by data, put your money where your mouth is.

  16. Looking back, what’s the one thing you wish you’d known when you started?

    That signals weren’t going to make me a consistent gain — actually learning the skill for yourself will. And that strategy is only a percentage of what will drive you to success in the markets; how you are set up on the backend is genuinely just as important.
